Fuding Silver Needles
"So delicate and unique" - Sandra J.

Fuding Silver Needles
Rock sugar and umami with floral sweetness
About This Tea
Fuding Silver Needles is an original white tea from the coastal town of Fuding, a renowned white tea–producing region nestled along misty mountainsides that overlook an estuary flowing to the sea. The savory quality of white teas from Fuding is attributed to the maritime airflow and oceanic minerals infused in the region’s basalt-rich soil.
This special batch was harvested during the Mingqian season in early spring, a cherished time when the most prized white teas of the year are made. During this fleeting harvest window, only the first tea buds that sprout annually are carefully picked to ensure the finest quality.
The tea is made from the Fuding Da Hao tea bush cultivar, known for its large, downy buds cloaked in silvery-white trichomes that give the tea a shimmering, ethereal appearance. These sweet trichomes contribute to both the tea's stunning visual character and its rich, nuanced flavor.
Authentic Fuding white teas are prized for their stimulating and energetic character. This is thanks to the high concentration of amino acids, caffeine, and nutrients in the early spring first flush buds. These potent compounds are expressed most vibrantly in teas made from the Fuding Da Hao cultivar.
Unlike other white teas, Fuding Silver Needles offers a sublime and elegant balance of oceanic umami and savory depth, layered with delicate notes of floral spice, confection-like sweetness, and a smooth, brothy infusion quality.
