Bamboo Ginger Powder
Highly aromatic and warming with enlivening character
About This Tea
Ginger has been used for millennia as a warming panacea to treat ailments and to support digestion, immunity, overall health and longevity. Bamboo Ginger is a special variety of spicy and highly aromatic ginger grown in Taiwan and Okinawa. It is harvested at the peak of pungency and aromatic complexity. This spicy powder can be added to all types of tea drinks or simply stirred into hot lemon water and honey, chai or steamed milk-based drinks. It can be used instead of or in combination with fresh ginger or dried ginger.
This premium grade of ginger is cold-milled into a fine powder and vacuum packaged into a convenient resealable bag. The highly aromatic and enlivening character of this ginger is like no other market grade of ginger powder you may have experienced. The roots are grown in the rich red soils of Central Taiwan’s tea growing regions where we source our oolong teas. Our tea supplier’s brother is a professor of agriculture, researcher and grower of medical roots like: ginger, Okinawa varieties of turmeric and types of galangal. He developed farming and processing methods to harvest and produce dried ginger at its peak of maturity when the phenolic and terpene compounds are at peak levels. This ginger is the most aromatic, pungent and warming of any dried ginger. It makes a great spike to any ginger tea or recipe.

Preparation
Whisk 1 teaspoon of Bamboo Ginger in 100 mL of hot water, in the same way as making Matcha, drink this powder as is, dilute it with water to taste or sweeten with honey.
Ginger powder blends into smoothies well and can be added to dishes, drinks or recipes where ginger is called upon. Bamboo Ginger and fresh pineapple with Red Turmeric makes a really great blended smoothie.
Add 1-2 teaspoons of Bamboo Ginger powder to a cup of hot water. Add honey, lemon or your favorite drink ingredients to this delicious cup of ginger tea. Sometimes we use a tea or herbal infusion in place of the hot water to prepare Bamboo Ginger. It can pair well with mint, citrus, matcha, rosemary, holy basil and other aromatic plant infusions.

Mingjian Village
Nantou County, Taiwan
Around the world, Taiwan is well-known as a country that produces highly specialized teas. The Mingjian Village is situated in the central highlands of Nantou, Taiwan and the gardens here are incredible. Jui Lung focuses on the importance of allowing nature to nurture the grounds. This can be seen in one of the small Wu-Yi gardens, which has Hong Yu 18 trees on the borders, culinary herbs between the tea bush rows and plenty of nitrogen fixing “weeds” to maintain healthy and living soils all surrounding the tea bushes.
